Share-a-Yacht Weekends (Southampton)
Our "Share a Yacht" weekends are offered, on average, every four or five weeks. The weekends are run along similar grounds to our Skippered Charters, the only difference is that you just sign up and we organise the rest of the crew.
The cost of the weekends is on a per berth basis and is fixed irrespective of the size of the party.
This year we sail on board "Reach 4 the Wind", our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 35. She is equipped to the highest of standards and will be Skippered by a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster.
The programme is tailored to the groups needs which can be relaxed or action packed, with or without instruction. All you need to do is let us know your requirements and we will try and match the crew.
Depending on the weather, the itinerary is normally Solent based, an area which offers some of the best sailing in the country, with a wide and varied range of marinas, harbours and estuaries, not forgetting the excellent hostelries to patronise.
For the crews who wish greater distances, Reach 4 the Wind is DoT/MCA coded Cat 2 (up to 60 miles from safe haven) which is suitable for those long weekend trips to France and the Channel Islands.
If required, we can theme the weekend to cover particular areas of sailing interest, such as Sail Trim, Astro Navigation (including the use of a modern day sextant), Racing techniques, Spinnaker flying etc
Typical Itinerary
Friday evening
- Join the yacht at Ocean Village (7.30pm)
- Boat and Safety brief
- Short evening sail (depending on crew)
- Evening meal on board
Saturday / Sunday
- Hearty Breakfast
- Morning sail (with or without instruction)
- Lunch time stop
- Afternoon sail to overnight mooring (Sat)
- Evening meal ashore (Sat)
